Simon Property mulls 3 bln stg bid for CSC-paper

LONDON, Dec 12 (BestGrowthStock) – Simon Property (SPG.N: ), the
largest mall operator in the United States, has not ruled out
making a conditional approach for Capital Shopping Centres (CSC)
(CSCG.L: ), the Sunday Times reported, citing sources close to the
talks.

Simon Property owns 5.1 percent in CSC, owner of the Arndale
Centre in Manchester and Lakeside in Essex, and the company is
disgruntled over CSC’s plans to buy the Trafford Centre mall in

Simon Property will most likely give an indicative price
range at which it would bid with the offer subject to access
being granted to CSC’s books, the newspaper reported, citing the
sources.

CSC is valued at about 2.7 billion pounds ($4.3 billion).
