Somali Islamists say Uganda bombs not suicide attacks

MOGADISHU (BestGrowthStock) – No suicide bombers were involved in the attacks that killed at least 76 people watching the World Cup final in Uganda on Sunday, an official from the al Shabaab Islamist group that claimed the attack said on Tuesday.

“Rage blessed those who carried the attack and expected a long life for them. That shows there was no suicide bomb. These were planted,” a man who identified himself as Yonis, assistant to al Shabaab spokesman Sheikh Ali Mohamud Rage, told Reuters by telephone.

Ugandan police said they had found a suicide vest at a third site that was designed so it could be planted and used as a improvised bomb.
