Source of radiation in crippled Japan reactor No. 3 not clear -operator

TOKYO, March 25 (Reuters) – The operator of the
earthquake-crippled nuclear power plant in northern Japan said
it was hard to determine the source of radiation in water found
at the facility’s reactor No. 3.

Sakae Muto, vice-president of the Tokyo Electric Power Co.
(TEPCO) , told a news briefing that in order to reduce
radiation levels the company was considering bailing out water
that has been sprayed to cool the plant’s reactors.

He said that for reactors No.s 1-3, the most critical,
workers at the plant were in the process of switching to fresh
water from sea water for dousing the reactors.
