Storm delays relief well operations 7 to 9 days

HOUSTON, July 24 (BestGrowthStock) – Tropical Storm Bonnie, which
has weakened to a tropical depression, has delayed work on a
relief well at BP Plc’s (BP.N: ) (BP.N: ) Gulf of Mexico oil spill
by at least 7 to 9 days, retired Coast Guard Admiral Thad
Allen, head of the U.S. government’s oil spill response, said
on Saturday.

The rig drilling the relief well to plug the leak was moved
out of the path of the storm on Friday. It is moving back to
the spill site and now has to reconnect to the well.
