TABLE-Japan non-mini auto sales rise 46.7 pct in August

TOKYO, Sept 1 (BestGrowthStock) – Automobile sales in Japan,
excluding 660cc minivehicles, rose 46.7 percent in August from a
year earlier to 290,789 vehicles, the Japan Automobile Dealers
Association said on Wednesday.

Sales at top-ranked Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T: ), excluding the
Lexus brand, rose 43.3 percent, while Nissan Motor Co (7201.T: )
rose 44.6 percent and Honda Motor Co (7267.T: ) gained 61.3
percent.

August marked the 13th straight month of year-on-year rise,
and the third-biggest monthly rise on record, the association
said. There was one more selling day compared with the
year-earlier month.

For the January-August period sales totalled 2,344,883 units,
up 30.9 percent from a year earlier.
