TAIPEI, April 28 (BestGrowthStock) – Taiwan’s Compal Electronics
(2324.TW: ), the world’s No. 2 contract laptop maker, posted a
surge in quarterly earnings on Wednesday amid rising demand for
computers globally.
Compal earned a net profit of T$8.52 billion ($272 million)
in January-March, compared with T$2.8 billion the same period a
year ago, the company said.
Analysts were expecting Compal to earn T$6.042 billion in the
first quarter.
On Monday, sector leader Quanta Computer (2382.TW: ) forecast
rising shipments for the second quarter after posting slightly
stronger-than-expected first-quarter earnings that could bode
