Top fund managers bet on MasterCard, ExxonMobil in 2010

NEW YORK, Jan 31 (BestGrowthStock) – The top portfolio managers at leading mutual funds
are betting on companies ranging from MasterCard Inc (MA.N: ) to Exxon Mobil Corp
(XOM.N: ) for 2010, financial weekly Barron’s said in its Feb. 1 edition.

Dennis Lynch, the head of growth investing at Morgan Stanley Investment
Management, was cited as favoring names like MasterCard Inc (MA.N: ), research firm
MorningStar (MORN.O: ), and Verisk Analytics Inc (VRSK.O: ), which helps insurance
companies assess risk.

Ed Perks, manager of Franklin Templeton’s Franklin Income Fund, said he has
recently raised his exposure to equities and and was seeing better values in
large-cap, dividend-issuing stocks like Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM.N: ) , Southern Co.
(SO.N: ), Target Corp (TGT.N: ) and Pepsico Inc (PEP.N: ).

Others include:

* Bill Stromberg, director of T. Rowe Price’s global-equity operation, recommends
a close watch on China, and likes Beijing Enterprises Group Holdings Ltd (0392.HK: ).

* Christopher Gagnier, head of U.S. fixed income at Aberdeen Asset Management,
favors prime non-agency mortgages and commercial-mortgage-backed securities. He sees
opportunity in Build America Bonds issued by state and local governments with federal
subsidies.

* Aberdeen’s Asia-Pacific team likes the outlook for the region’s currency
markets, particularly against the U.S. dollar and Japanese yen.
