Toyota says to start output at one more factory on April 11

TOKYO, April 6 (Reuters) – Toyota Motor Corp said
on Wednesday it would resume production of two models at a
subsidiary’s factory south of Tokyo on April 11.

Vehicle assembly unit Central Motor had been scheduled to
shutter the factory in Sagamihara, Kanagawa prefecture, at the
end of last month, and transfer production to a new site in
Miyagi prefecture. That factory, which began operations in
January, suffered some damage from the earthquake on March 11.

A Toyota spokeswoman said assembly of the Corolla Axio and
Raum models will start at the Sagamihara factory next Monday.
Toyota will have lost potential output of 260,000 vehicles as of
April 8 since production was suspended from March 14, she said.
