UK Conservatives say will be tougher on deficit

LONDON, April 13 (BestGrowthStock) – Britain’s opposition
Conservatives said on Tuesday they would be tougher than ruling
Labour in cutting the budget deficit.

“In terms of the deficit, yes we’ve said we will start
earlier, we will go faster and further than Labour,”
Conservative leader David Cameron said at the launch of the
party’s manifesto for the May 6 election.

“We’ve talked about reducing the bulk of the structural
deficit in the parliament, we think that needs to be done and
what Labour have set out so far is not sufficient.”

Labour has said it will more than halve the deficit by 2014
but wants to delay cuts until economic recovery is assured. The
deficit is forecast to exceed 11 percent of GDP this year.
