Universa in investment talks with China sovereign fund-WSJ

NEW YORK, Aug 23 (BestGrowthStock) – Universa Investments LP is in
talks with China’s $300 billion sovereign-wealth fund, China
Investment Corp. [CIC.UL], and Middle East government funds
about investing in Universa, the Wall Street Journal reported,
citing a person familiar with the matter.

The outcome of the talks is not certain, the WSJ said.

But if the investments materialize, they would likely boost
the Universa fund’s client assets to $10 billion from $6
billion now, two people familiar with the matter told the WSJ.

Universa was co-founded by Prof. Nassim Nicholas Taleb, the
mathematical finance scholar who lectures at New York
University and wrote the 2007 book “The Black Swan.”

Taleb still advises the Santa Monica, Calif., investment
firm.
