UPDATE 1-Bankers Petroleum says rains cease at Albania oilfield

* Says restored 1,200 bopd of production at Patos-Marinza

* Says new rainfall could disrupt ops again

* Says to resume activity at full capacity shortly

* Shares up 4 pct

Dec 6 (BestGrowthStock) – Bankers Petroleum Ltd (BNK.TO: ) said it
has restored 67 percent of the oil production at its
Patos-Marinza oilfield in Albania, which had shut down due to
flooding in the last two days, sending its shares up 4 percent.

With the rains ceased, Bankers said production of 1,200
barrels of oil per day (bopd) had been restored as of Monday
morning, but predicted new rainfall could further delay
resumption of activity.

The Calgary-based oil and gas producer had shut in
production of 1,800 bopd and shut down operations of four rigs
on Dec. 4.

The company, however, added that it was optimistic of
resuming activity at full capacity in short order.

Shares of Bankers, which has full rights to develop both
the Patos-Marinza and Kucova oilfields in Albania, touched a
high of C$7.10, before paring some gains to trade up 1 percent
at C$6.88 on Monday afternoon on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
