NEW YORK, June 3 (BestGrowthStock) – Barclays Wealth has appointed
Steve Houston as head of its Wealth Management Americas
business, the company announced on Thursday.

Houston will replace Jack Petersen, who is returning to an
advisory role as an investment representative in the company’s
New York office, according to Barclays Wealth, a unit of
Barclays Plc (BARC.L: ).

Houston joined Barclays Wealth in 2009 as the global head
of relationship management and distribution. Prior to that he
spent 10 years at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch global wealth management division.

Petersen joined Barclays in 2008 when the company acquired
Lehman Brothers’ private investment management division.

Mitch Cox, head of the overall Barclays Wealth, Americas
division and head of global research and investment for
Barclays Wealth, praised Petersen’s return to an advisory

“(Petersen’s) decision to rebuild his (investment
representative) business at Barclays Wealth speaks both to the
opportunities our platform offers and the significant benefits
that our $1 billion investment in the business over the next
several years will bring,” Cox said in a statement.
