UPDATE 1-Barnes Q1 beats Street, raises 2010 EPS view

April 30 (BestGrowthStock) – Barnes Group Inc (B.N: ), a maker of
aerospace and industrial components, posted quarterly results
that beat market estimates, helped by a 20 percent revenue jump
in its precision components segment.

The Bristol, Connecticut-based company also raised its 2010
forecast to a range of 90 cents to $1.10 a share, from the
prior view of 85 cents to $1.05 per share.

Analysts on an average were expecting full-year earnings of
$1.01 per share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

For the first quarter, Barnes reported net income of $11.8
million, or 21 cents a share, compared with net income of $11.5
million, or 22 cents a share, a year earlier.

Revenue rose 6 percent to $278.1 million.

Analysts on an average were expecting earnings of 19 cents
a share on revenue of $266.7 million.

Shares of the company closed at $20.80 Thursday on the New
York Stock Exchange.
