(Adds context)

BOGOTA, May 5 (BestGrowthStock) – Colombia’s inflation rate was
0.46 percent in April, the government’s DANE statistics
department said on Wednesday when it released the month’s
consumer price index, or CPI.

Analysts polled by Reuters earlier this week said they were
expecting an April inflation rate of 0.33 percent.

Colombia’s inflation rate in April 2009 was 0.32 percent.

Consumer prices rose 1.98 percent over the last 12 months
compared with the rise of 5.73 percent that was registered in
the 12 months through April 2009.

The central bank expects an inflation rate of 3 percent for
full-year 2010, in the middle of its 2 percent to 4 percent
target range.
