UPDATE 1-Constellation Software Q3 earnings beats estimates

Nov 3 (BestGrowthStock) – Canada’s Constellation Software Inc’s
(CSU.TO: ) quarterly profit beat estimates, helped by a surge in
revenue in its public sector segment.

For the July-September quarter, net income was $14.2
million, or 67 cents a share, compared with $2.7 million, or 13
cents a share, a year ago.

Revenue rose 52 percent to $162.8 million. Revenue in the
public sector segment, which contributes 74 percent of total
revenue, increased 48 percent to $120 million.

On an adjusted basis, the company earned $1.21 a share, up
from 69 cents apiece a year ago.

Analysts on average expected the company to earn 97 cents a
share on revenue of $151.3 million, according to Thomson
Reuters I/B/E/S.

Shares of the Toronto-based Constellation, which have risen
22 percent in value year-to-date, closed at C$45.49 on the
Toronto Stock Exchange.
