UPDATE 1-Curtiss-Wright Q3 beats Wall Street view

Oct 28 (BestGrowthStock) – Diversified manufacturer Curtiss-Wright
Corp (CW.N: ) posted better-than-expected quarterly results,
helped by strong growth at its general industrial and
commercial aerospace markets.

Sales at its general industrial market grew 35 percent,
while commercial aerospace market sales rose 11 percent.

Curtiss-Wright’s flow-control segment, which accounts for
more than 50 percent of sales, rose 5 percent, driven by strong
growth at its naval defense market.

Curtiss-Wright, which serves the aerospace, defense, and
oil and gas industries, reaffirmed its 2010 outlook of
$2.15-$2.25 a share in profit, on revenue of $1.80-$1.85
billion.

For the third quarter, Curtiss-Wright reported net income
of $27.8 million, or 60 cents a share, compared with $20.1
million, or 44 cents a share, a year earlier.

Revenue rose 7 percent to $465.8 million.

Analysts on average were expecting earnings of 58 cents a
share, on revenue of $449.3 million, according to Thomson
Reuters I/B/E/S.

Shares of the Parsippany, New Jersey-based company closed
at $32.50 Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange. They have
risen more than 24 percent since touching a year low in
August.
