UPDATE 1-Duke Energy raises $45 mln for Texas solar project

* Gets 25-yr loan from Prudential Capital Group

* Says leverages 14-MW Blue Wing Solar Project

June 9 (BestGrowthStock) – Duke Energy Corp (DUK.N: ) raised about
$45 million by leveraging its ownership of the 14-megawatt
solar project that is being built in San Antonio, Texas.

Duke Energy Generation Services (DEGS), a unit of Duke
Energy that owns and develops renewable power assets, raised a
25-year loan from Prudential Capital Group, a unit of
Prudential Financial Inc (PRU.N: ), for the Blue Wing Solar
project.

Blue Wing will be DEGS’ second commercial photovoltaic
project. The company already owns and operates a 1 megawatt
(MW) solar farm in Shelby, North Carolina, Duke Energy said.

Last month, the unit announced a 15-year term loan of about
$325 million and credit letters of about $50 million by
leveraging its interests in five of its commercial wind farms.

Shares of the company closed at $16.10 Tuesday on the New
York Stock Exchange.
