UPDATE 1-India Petronet in talks for LNG from Australia, Qatar

NEW DELHI, Aug 20 (BestGrowthStock) – India’s Petronet LNG
(PLNG.BO: ) is in talks to buy more liquefied natural gas (LNG)
from Qatar and Australia, the company’s chief executive A.K.
Balyan told reporters on Friday.

“We are looking for long-term LNG contract and we want the
best prices,” he said, but did not elaborate.

Petronet runs an LNG terminal at Dahej on India’s west
coast with a capacity to process 10 million tonnes a year.

It is building another terminal at Kochi in southern India
which will import 2.5 million tonnes a year.

Balyan said the Kochi terminal would be commissioned by
April or May 2012.
