NEW YORK, Jan 27 (BestGrowthStock) – Lazard Ltd’s (LAZ.N: ) new chief
has brought back one of the firm’s longtime executives to serve
as his special adviser, the investment bank said on Wednesday.

Felix Rohatyn, who had a nearly 50-year career at Lazard as
a partner and managing director, will begin advising Chief
Executive Kenneth Jacobs on Feb. 1. Rohatyn left the firm in
1997 to serve as the U.S. ambassador to France.

Jacobs, who was appointed CEO after the death of Bruce
Wasserstein last year, called Rohatyn “a legend” in a statement
on Wednesday.

In interview with Reuters in November, Rohatyn called
Jacobs’ appointment “a very intelligent and a very classy
change of senior management.”

“Ken is very smart,” said Rohatyn, who said he knew Jacobs
and worked with him for 25 years. “He works very hard …. I
don’t know that you can ask for more.”

Rohatyn most recently headed Rohatyn Associates, his own
private advisory firm, Rohatyn Associates.
