UPDATE 1-Lincoln Educational Q1 tops Street; raises 2010 view

May 5 (BestGrowthStock) – For-profit education provider Lincoln
Educational Services Corp (LINC.O: ) posted better-than-expected
quarterly results, helped by a 25 percent growth in average
student population, and raised its outlook for 2010.

The company now expects 2010 earnings to range between
$2.50 and $2.60 a share, on revenue of $650 million to $655
million.

Lincoln Educational had previously forecast full-year
earnings of $2.40 to $2.50 a share, on revenue of $645 million
to $655 million.

The company posted first-quarter earnings of $14.5 million,
or 55 cents a share, compared with $5.8 million, or 22 cents a
share, a year earlier.

Revenue rose 29 percent to $152.5 million.

Analysts on average were expecting earnings of 40 cents a
share, on revenue of $147.3 million, according to Thomson
Reuters I/B/E/S.

Shares of the company closed at $24.22 Tuesday on Nasdaq.
