NEW YORK, June 15 (BestGrowthStock) – Morgan Stanley (MS.N: ) (Read more about the money market today. ) has
hired energy investment banker Jonathan Cox away from Deutsche
Bank AG (DBKGn.DE: ), according to sources familiar with the
matter.

It is the latest in a string of high-profile departures
from Deutsche’s U.S. natural resources investment banking
group, coming after the departures of group head Michael Hill,
who recently left for Nomura, and energy investment banker
Michael Johnson, who was previously hired by Morgan Stanley.

Cox was the head of energy M&A at Deutsche. His title at
Morgan Stanley was not immediately available.

Oil and gas deal activity is at its highest point on record
this year, with more than $128.5 billion of transactions worldwide
through June 4. Deutsche Bank is the number five investment bank
in energy and power deals worldwide so far this year, according to
Thomson Reuters data.

Deutsche Bank has appointed Dan Ward as co-head global
natural resources group, succeeding Hill, according to a memo
obtained by Reuters.

The bank has also named investment banker Sten Gustafson
Head of Energy, Americas. Gustafson will also continue to lead
the firm’s global oilfield services practice.

Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley declined to comment on the
matter.
