UPDATE 1-Nalco Holding Q3 beats Street, raises FY EPS view

Oct 26 (BestGrowthStock) – Water treatment services company Nalco
Holding Co (NLC.N: ) reported better-than-expected quarterly
results and raised full-year view for the second time in three
months, encouraged by better demand at its water services and
energy services segments.

The company forecast 2010 adjusted earnings to exceed $1.50
a share, compared with its prior expectation above $1.40 a
share.

Analysts on average expect the company to earn $1.50 a
share for the year, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

Nalco, which sold dispersants for the clean-up of the BP
(BP.L: ) oil spill, concluded its Gulf of Mexico spill response
at the beginning of the third quarter.

For the July-September quarter, net income attributable to
Nalco Holding was $58.9 million, or 42 cents a share, compared
with net loss of $28 million, or 20 cents a share, last year.

Analysts were expecting 40 cents a share.

Revenue rose 14 percent to $1.09 billion, beating analysts’
expectation of $1.03 billion.

Water services segment sales rose 11 percent, while energy
services segment sales grew 19 percent.

The Naperville, Illinois-based company’s shares, which rose
11 percent since it raised its full-year earnings view in July,
closed at $27.36 Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange.
