UPDATE 1-Problems with NYSE floor brokers’ handhelds

(Adds report from floor)

NEW YORK, May 25 (BestGrowthStock) – Some brokers at the New York
Stock Exchange had problems with their electronic hand-held
trading devices on Tuesday, with many traders gathered on the
floor around large banks of screens as U.S. markets opened.

The NYSE and Amex cash markets were “experiencing issues
with order delivery” to the brokers for at least 40 minutes
before and after the open, exchange operator NYSE Euronext
(NYX.N: ) said in notes to traders. The “sporadic issues”
remained until as late as 10:00 a.m. EDT (1400 GMT).

Floor traders and specialists were gathered at the floor’s
operations center to carry out trades, a Reuters witness said.
They normally use their handheld devices.

The exchange said all other order delivery and order
processing are functioning normally.
