* Line was down for maintenance
(Adds details)

NEW YORK, Dec 6 (BestGrowthStock) – Sunoco Inc reported a leak in a crude oil
pipeline in Kilgore, Texas over the weekend as the line was being cleaned
to run another product, according to state regulators on Monday.

According to a preliminary report made with state regulators, Sunoco
was removing crude oil from its pipeline with a maintenance pig, which was
being pushed with nitrogen.

“Sunoco was removing crude oil to use the line, which runs from Kilgore
to Houston, for another product,” said Ramona Nye, a spokeswoman for the
Texas Railroad Commission.

During this crude oil displacement process, a pin hole leak was found
Saturday about 8 miles north/northwest of Livingston in Polk County. The
estimated volume of crude oil released is about 65 barrels, she said.

The 10-inch pipeline had a release of oil as it was undergoing
scheduled maintenance and was not currently in service, said Thomas
Golembeski, a spokesman for Sunoco.

Golembeski said all customer needs were being met. It was not known
what product the pipeline would be running once it was restarted.
