UPDATE 1-Urban Outfitters Q1 rev beats Wall Street

* Q1 sales up 25 pct, tops Wall Street view

* Q1 same-store sales rise 11 pct

May 6 (BestGrowthStock) – Urban Outfitters Inc (URBN.O: ) posted
better-than-expected first-quarter revenue, helped by strong
performance at its direct-to-consumers segment.

The operator of the Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and
Free People chains, which also sells clothes wholesale to other
retailers, said revenue for the quarter rose 25 percent to $480

Analysts on average had expected revenue of $465.8 million,
according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

Same-store sales for the quarter rose 11 percent.

Comparable retail segment sales, which includes
direct-to-consumer channel, rose 16 percent, the company said
in a statement.

Shares of the company closed at $38.05 Wednesday on Nasdaq
