MORGAN STANLEY (MS.N: )

The bank named Gergely Voros and Dmitry Avdeev as co-heads
of investment banking for Russia/CIS, effective in June. Voros,
39, was previously head of Morgan Stanley’s emerging markets
equity capital markets business in London, while Avdeev, 36,
was most recently chief financial officer at Russian oil
services company Integra (INTEq.L: ).

FBR CAPITAL MARKETS CORP (FBCM.O: )

The investment bank has hired Daniel Bass, formerly an
executive vice president and managing director at The Carson
Medlin Co, as a managing director in its Houston office. Bass
will serve as part of the firm’s Financial Institutions
Investment Banking group.

WESTERN UNION CO (WU.N: )

The world’s largest payment transfer company said its chief
executive Christina Gold will retire, effective Sept. 1, and
will be succeeded by Chief Operating Officer Hikmet Ersek.

TROIKA DIALOG ASSET MANAGEMENT

The Russian wealth management service provider has hired
Svetlana Kulikova as head of internal audit, based in Moscow.
Kulikova joins from VTB Bank (VTBR.MM: ).

ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND (RBS.L: )

The firm said it has hired Pankaj Phatarphod as managing
director of RBS Business Services Pvt Ltd, and a member of the
group operations management team.

LINKLATERS

The law firm said it hired Sandeep Katwala as regional
managing partner of the firm’s emerging Europe, Middle East and
Africa practice, with effect from May 1. Katwala, a partner at
Linklaters since 2000, has been head of the firm’s India
practice for the past six years.

BANK OF NEW YORK MELLON (BK.N: )

BNY Mellon said it hired Robert Whittemore as head of
treasury services, Japan. Whittemore joins BNY Mellon from Rye,
New York, and most recently was an independent financial
consultant.

ADVENT INTERNATIONAL

The private equity firm said it hired David Yates to the
firm’s operating partner programme to advise on investment
opportunities in the financial services sector. Yates joins
from First Data Corp, and will be based in London.

EVOLUTION SECURITIES

The independent investment bank said it hired Nick Searle
as head of mid and small cap sales, with effect from July.
Searle joins from Oriel Securities.

ING CLARION REAL ESTATE SECURITIES

The real estate equity management arm of ING Real Estate
Investment Management (ING.AS: ) said it appointed Justin Pica as
vice president and senior analyst. Pica joins from ING
Investment Management in Hong Kong, where he was portfolio
manager.

CREDIT AGRICOLE (CAGR.PA: )

Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank said it hired
five bond origination, sales, trading and research specialists
to its fixed income markets Asia ex-Japan team, including
Jackson Lum, Allen Sheals, Daniel Polidano, Frances Cheung and
Ji Young Kim.

BROOKFIELD ASSET MANAGEMENT (BAMa.TO: )

The firm said Richard Liao joined its Brookfield Europe
operations on April 13 as managing partner, real estate
investments, Europe. Liao joins from Bank of America Merrill
Lynch (BAC.N: ).

INVESCO PERPETUAL

Fund firm Invesco Perpetual, part of U.S. firm Invesco
(IVZ.N: ), said it appointed Nick Mustoe as its new chief
investment officer, effective June 7.
