Boutique investment bank appointed Paul Deninger as senior
managing director. He will focus on advising companies in the
technology and clean technology sectors. Deninger was most
recently a vice chairman at Jefferies.


The investment banking firm appointed Jim Fadel from Morgan
Stanley (MS.N: ) to head European structured debt capital markets
from London.


A team of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney brokers in northern
New York state, the Morgia Group, last week joined HighTower
Advisors, a Chicago firm that is adding veteran advisers across

The Bank of Israel named David Zaken supervisor of banks to
replace Roni Hizkiyahu, who will complete his term after four

The bank’s internet analyst Mary Meeker, once dubbed “Queen
of the Net,” has left the U.S. bank and joined venture capital
firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. [ID:nN29125662]


The Europe’s biggest lender said it had appointed Robert
Lang as managing director of its insurance businesses in Hong
Kong. Lang, who took up the role last week, will also be a
member of HSBC’s executive committee in Hong Kong.


The company’s investment banking arm, Arbuthnot Securities
Ltd, appointed Jamie Lowe as the head of closed end funds (CEF)
and will be taking up the role from December 7.

Lowe joins the company from KBC Peel Hunt, where he led the
CEF arbitrage proprietary trading book.


UK’s broker-only general insurer appointed Caroline Fisher
to the newly created position of Development Manager to cover
the South East. Fisher will be responsible for the development
of broker relationships in the south of England.
