US consumer confidence edges up to -48 in latest week-ABC

NEW YORK, Jan 26 (BestGrowthStock) – ABC News said on Tuesday its
weekly measure of U.S. consumer confidence inched higher in the
latest week but still remains deep in the negative range.

The ABC Consumer Comfort Index rose to -48 for the week
ended Jan. 24 from -49 in the previous week.

ABC’s gauge first reached its all-time low of -54 in the
week to Dec. 1, 2008, and again in the week to Jan. 25, 2009.
It has not been on positive ground since March 2007.

The ABC News consumer confidence survey was based on a
sample of about 1,000 interviews conducted in the four weeks
ending Jan. 17 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3
percentage points.
