US consumer confidence slips in latest week – ABC

NEW YORK, March 30 (BestGrowthStock) – ABC News reported on Tuesday
that its weekly index of U.S. consumer confidence fell
slightly, as Americans’ views on their personal finances and
the buying climate weakened.

The ABC Consumer Comfort Index fell to -45 for the week
ended March 28, from -44 the prior week.

After the index climbed six points to -43 for the week
ended March 14, survey respondents’ perspectives on spending
and economic conditions have fluctuated. The gauge still lies
in deeply negative territory.

The CCI first hit its all-time low of -54 in the week to
Dec. 1, 2008, and again hit that point in the week to Jan. 25,
2009. It has not seen positive ground since March 2007.
