US Republican says will not cut bad spending deal

WASHINGTON, April 5 (Reuters) – U.S. House of
Representatives Speaker John Boehner said on Tuesday that he
would not cut a “bad deal” on spending with Democrats to keep
the government operating beyond Friday.

“We want the largest spending cuts that are possible,”
Boehner told reporters after a White House meeting with
President Barack Obama aimed at averting a government
shutdown.
