NEW YORK, March 25 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks opened higher on Friday after an upbeat outlook from Oracle (ORCL.O: Quote, Profile, Research) suggested further gains may be in store for the technology sector.
Oracle shares were up 4.5 percent at $33.60.
The Dow Jones industrial average (.DJI: Quote, Profile, Research) was up 32.39 points, or 0.27 percent, at 12,202.95. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index (.SPX: Quote, Profile, Research) added 3.14 points, or 0.24 percent, at 1,312.80. The Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC: Quote, Profile, Research) put on 11.33 points, or 0.41 percent, at 2,747.75. (Reporting by Caroline Valetkevitch)
