US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Wall St opens flat after jobless data

NEW YORK, Sept 2 (BestGrowthStock) – U.S. stocks (Read more about the stock market today. ) opened little
changed on Thursday as consumer shares rose and data showed
first-time claims for jobless benefits declined slightly last
week.

* The market could face pressure from profit-taking the day
after Wall Street racked up its best day in eight weeks on
strong manufacturing data in the United States and China.

* The Dow Jones industrial average (.DJI: ) dipped 3.63
points, or 0.04 percent, to 10,265.84. The Standard & Poor’s
500 Index (.SPX: ) added 0.38 points, or 0.04 percent, to
1,080.67. The Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC: ) was off 1.19
points, or 0.05 percent, to 2,175.65.
