NEW YORK, March 29 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks opened little changed on Tuesday as many investors, cautious about global crises, bided their time before the quarter's end.
The Dow Jones industrial average (.DJI: Quote, Profile, Research) slipped 1.51 points, or 0.01 percent, to 12,196.37. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index (.SPX: Quote, Profile, Research) fell 0.59 point, or 0.05 percent, to 1,309.60. The Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC: Quote, Profile, Research) edged down 2.31 points, or 0.08 percent, to 2,728.37.
