US’s Geithner says double-dip recession unlikely

WASHINGTON, July 25 (BestGrowthStock) – U.S. Treasury Secretary
Timothy Geithner said on Sunday the economy was recovering from
a severe recession and he did not expect it to slip back into a
downturn.

“The economy is starting to heal again,” he said in an
interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press” program, adding in response
to a question that he did not foresee a “double dip”
recession.

“I think the most likely thing is you’ll see an economy
that gradually strengthens over the next year or two, you’ll
see job growth start to come back, investments expanding …
but we’ve got a long way to go still,” Geithner said.
